International Relations Coordinator
Department: Environ. Conservation Programs
1  Full Time Term Position (35 hrs/wk; 1 year w/ possible renewal)
Work closely with the Manager, International Programs to secure maximum efficiency, rapid response, and smooth operations of ECP's international programs including but not limited to rapid inventories (biological and cultural), training efforts, and follow-up work with communication and action for conservation. Assist in the implementation of ECP's international efforts and help to integrate them with ECP's local programs. S/he is responsible for (1)sustaining relations with ECP's collaborators, primarily internationally but also, as relevant, in the U.S. and within the Museum; (2) assisting in the implementation of alternative economic development strategies in programs areas with various departments, staff and partners (3) ensuring that international partners receive appropriate training in financial management. BA/BS required in biology, or related field, and at least three years of successful work experience in conservation or management field. Must have superb communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations involving colleagues of varied economic and professional backgrounds, in both public and private sectors. Fluency in Spanish required; working proficiency in Portuguese desirable. Must be willing to travel (25%-50%).
 
Manager, International Programs
Department: Environ. Conservation Programs
1  Full Time Term Position (35 hrs/wk; 1 year from start)
Manager will oversee the operational and administrative management of ECP's international programs, including but not limited to all aspects of rapid inventories (biological and cultural), field training exercises, and follow-up work for conservation action. Will work closely with the Director of ECP, other ECP and CCUC staff, and U.S. and international collaborators in shaping, executing, and strengthening these programs. Must have advanced degree in biology, management, or related fields, and at least three years of successful work experience in conservation or management field; or BA/BS and six years of successful work experience in conservation or related field. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations involving colleagues of varied economic and professional backgrounds. Fluency in Spanish required and working proficiency in Portuguese desirable. Position also requires travel.
 
International Programs Manager
Department: Environ. Conservation Programs
1  Full Time Term Position (35 hrs/wk; 1 year from start )
This position works with ECP team in conservation education program implementation focused in Peru. Build capacity and provide support to international partners in the development and implementation of biodiversity conservation education programs. Specific duties will include: Plan, organize and execute the education program initiatives in Peru. Provide training to partners, community leaders and teachers. Design, and develop community based, school-based and adult-based conservation programs with community and partner involvement. Adapt content, techniques, methods and goals of existing conservation education programs – Mighty Acorns, Earth Force and UrbanWatch. Provide translation and training as appropriate. Develop materials, assist with acquisition of supplies and equipment for partners, educators and community-based organizations. Provide support to director and to partners to increase networking opportunities and to develop partner and education mentoring relationships. Integrate CCUC’s asset mapping work with ECP education efforts seamlessly and effectively. Build on CCUC’s contacts and local knowledge. Design, with team, content, materials and delivery mechanism for both community-based Information Centers and Conservation Schools. Master’s degree in conservation biology or international environmental education and 3-5 years related work experience. Must be able to communicate in Spanish. Must be technologically literate and possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to travel internationally for weeks at a time and live with minimum “conveniences”; be physically self-reliant.
