Long before Egypt becomes a unified kingdom, many of the conventions of Egyptian art and culture are taking shape:
The pantheon of the gods is established.

Many of the basic conventions for hieroglyphic writing and two-dimensional imagery and symbolism are created.

The grid system of illustration that regulates the proportions of human figures is developed.
