Second Persian Occupation
343 - 332 B.C.

Politics:
During the Late Period, invaders from Persia had conquered Egypt, ruling the country as the 27th Dynasty. Although the Egyptians expelled the Persians in 404 B.C., they still considered Egypt their territory.

In 343 B.C. Persia invades again, defeating the last pharaoh of the 30th Dynasty. Though exceedingly unpopular, the Persian regime lasts until Alexander the Great makes Egypt one of his conquests.
