Clyde Valentine (New York)

Mr. Valentine’s work with hip hop culture is diverse and comprehensive. He helped organize the Second Annual New York Hip Hop Theatre Festival. He also co-founded the Black August Hip Hop Benefit Concert that uses hip hop to raise human rights issues awareness. Mr. Valentine has also helped bring hip hop culture to The Bronx Museum of Contemporary Art with his collaboration with the staff to create the hip hop exhibit entitled One Planet Under a Groove: Hip Hop Culture and Contemporary Art. In addition to this, he co-founded the internationally heralded hip hop magazine Stress. He is a graduate of Binghamton University, where he was a member of La Raza Theater Company and was born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
