Here we quickly realized how comfortable was our “collecting” at Queensland Museum compared to the actual collecting in winter in the southwestern Australian bush! Wet everything and cool temperatures were the predominant conditions during this part of the trip. Sometimes even when the weather was fine, other collecting circumstances could be not so pleasant… yuck.. But it’s all part of the hunt for rove beetles.
