Margaret Thayer tracking satellites by GPS receiver on the road through Mt. Windsor State Forest, QLD.

But it is not easy in some respects. For instance, one of the annoying problems in the rainforest was the relatively long time required by the GPS receiver to receive signals from satellites. The magnificent and dense canopy often makes it difficult to get a signal for calculating the position of our collecting sites.
