Eco Analysis
An ecosystem is a complex web of relationships. Identifying the living and non-living components that make up an ecosystem is the first step to understanding those relationships. Use an Eco Analysis to collect information about the Swallow Cliff Woods Ecosystem. Then when you are ready, conduct an Eco Analysis on an ecosystem in the area where you live.
Eco Web
After you are familiar with the living components in an ecosystem, you are ready to study how they interact. Because an ecosystem is a web, the presence of each organism has an impact on everything else that lives in the ecosystem. Use an Eco Web to chart how the plants, animals, and humans in the Tsavo Ecosystem affect each other. Put your new skill to the test by mapping the relationships in an ecosystem to which you belong.
Eco Issue
Before you can develop strategies to conserve biodiversity, you need to identify specific problems that an ecosystem faces. Start by looking at how humans impact the ecosystem. Use Eco Issue to identify the problem in the Zábalo Ecosystem and how the Cofan are solving it. After you are familiar with the problems that challenge your ecosystem, you can determine how to act as a steward of the environment.
