Ecosystems are changing rapidly, and plants and animals are becoming extinct at an alarming rate. Because humans depend on ecosystems for food, medicine, and other natural resources, it is time for you to rescue the environment. What can you do to protect the planet and the things that live on it? To find out join Project E.R. (environmental rescue).

With losses of biodiversity worldwide, The Field Museum is committed to using its resources to study and protect ecosystems throughout the world. The goal of Project E.R. is to use this website to take you behind the scenes at the Field Museum to explore ecosystems, biodiversity, and the value of conservation.

Transporting you to field sites in the United States, Kenya, and Ecuador, this website will introduce three conservation projects that Field Museum scientists are working on. While you are visiting, do not forget to check out the Bulletin to see what students just like you are doing in their backyards to protect the environment. If you are a teacher, you may want to browse the teacher aids for suggestions about using Project E.R. in your classroom.
