Ainu House at LPE, St. Louis, 1904
This Ainu building was constructed at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis. Frederick Starr and the nine Ainu delegates who agreed to be part of a "living group" at the exposition dismantled two Ainu houses in Japan and shipped the components to St. Louis. This house was constructed from the parts.
