This tanto’s wooden scabbard is decorated with a dragon with clouds and gems all in mother of pearl. The tsuka lacks the traditional ray skin and silk cord wrapping, and instead is carved to show a dragon emerging from the waves. The kozuka, which is made from shibuichi, are made to represent the Hannya demon, and the tsuba is made of iron and carved to represent a dragon. The blade has a single groove on each side, and has a swell pattern hamon line.
