The [Bar] BO Site is problematic. The site name seems to stem from a brand in which a bar is drawn over the capitalized letters "BO". The site consists of at least one pithouse/kiva and one pueblo [?] room; though no detailed or summary descriptions have been found in Department of Anthropology Archives.
There is documentary evidence indicating that the Bar BO site was excavated by the Southwest Expedition. A sherd tabulation sheet in Box SW 9 Folder #3 ("1955 Foote Canyon Sherd Summary Sheets"). This indicates that no fewer than 165 sherds were recovered, mostly of Alma Plain (100) and Reserve Smudged (34). Of these, the Field Museum currently curates only 18 sherds from Room 1 Fill and 13 sherds from the Pithouse Kiva Fill. One piece of chipped stone from the Pithouse Kiva Fill is also curated. The Martin Project catalogued all of these items, so it seems that none were deemed worthy of processing when initially returned to the Museum in 1955.
There are no published references to the Bar BO Site, nor are there are any photographs of the site in the departmental archives.
