  • Centro Comunitario Juan Diego, founded in 1994, promotes leadership among residents while serving the people in need. Volunteers are integral to their work dedicated to serving "the poorest of the poor" and promoting social change, with trainings in human rights, health education, and immigration rights, as well as tutoring and after-school programs, especially for Spanish-speaking children in English-language schools.

  • Imagine Englewood if... encourages local people to think about how they can contribute to improving the community and facilitates training in civic activism. Since 2000, I.E.i... has engaged local residents through events such as the Diamonds of Englewood Awards Banquet and the Liquor Store research project. Within the community I.E.i... strives to mobilize and help Englewood residents connect, collaborate and cooperate with one another for sustainable social improvements.

  • The Southwest Youth Collaborative, founded in the early 1980s, is a community-based network of youth and community development organizations working together in five neighborhoods on the Southwest Side of Chicago. Their mission is to work with youth between the ages of five and nineteen from diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds to unleash their potential to become successful and active contributing members of society.

  • Lake Park Crescent is a housing development in the North Kenwood/Oakland area being built as part of the Chicago Housing Authority's Plan for Transformation of public housing. Lake Park Crescent is a mixed income development which will include 490 units: 120 Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) replacement units, 122 affordable units and 248 market-rate units. The plan includes 242 rental units and 248 for-sale units. Families started moving in during October 2004. The development is being built by Draper and Kramer Incorporated.

North Town Village is a mixed income development consisting of 261 units, 79 of which are CHA units. This site is located on North Ave. and Halsted St. and was built by Holsten Real Estate Development Corporation and Kenard Development Corporation.
